Experience Heart’s In The Beaver Valley

If you’re seeking a dining experience that marries exquisite flavours with impeccable service, look no further than Heart’s in Kimberley. My recent visit left a lasting impression, thanks to their attention to detail in every dish and the warm, welcoming atmosphere in the small picturesque town.

The meal began with the chili roasted aubergine, which was a delightful start. The aubergine offered a smoky depth, beautifully contrasted by the creamy tahini, and the smelt added a savoury note that was perfectly balanced by the fresh parsley. It was a harmonious blend of flavours that set the tone for the rest of the evening.

The shrimp dish was another standout. Perfectly poached, the shrimp were tender and juicy, with a subtle hint of fish sauce that complemented the crispy shallots. The combination was both delicate and satisfying, showcasing the chef’s expertise in balancing flavours and textures.

Next, the halibut with roasted tomatoes, zucchini, and rosti arrived—a light and delicious summer dish. The summer vegetables were vibrant and roasted while still maintaining a fresh textual bite, enhancing the beautifully seared halibut with its perfectly seasoned

crust. The rosti, often challenging to get right, was executed flawlessly, providing a crispy, golden complement to the tender fish.

The prime rib dinner was a classic comfort dish, elevated by expertly prepared yellow beans, rich duck fat potatoes, and a perfectly puffed Yorkshire pudding. Each component was full of flavor, making this a meal to remember.

To finish, we indulged in the sticky ginger pudding. While words could describe it, this dessert is something you simply have to experience for yourself—rich, sticky, and deeply satisfying.

Beyond the food, the service was outstanding—attentive yet unobtrusive. The cocktails were inventive and delicious, and the wine pairing was spot-on, enhancing each dish beautifully.

In all, Heart’s in Kimberley offers an exceptional dining experience that’s well worth a visit. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, booking their beautiful group cellar, or simply in the mood for a great meal, you’ll find something to love at this gem of a restaurant.
