Support Local Announces Strategic Partnership with the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association
In a move set to strengthen local economies and amplify the voices of small businesses, Support Local has officially partnered with the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association (OBIAA). This collaboration marks a significant milestone in community-driven economic development, reinforcing the importance of supporting local businesses across Ontario.
Empowering Local Economies
The OBIAA represents more than 300 Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) across Ontario, advocating for thousands of small businesses that serve as the backbone of their communities. By partnering with Support Local, the OBIAA is enhancing its ability to showcase local businesses, share success stories, and deliver impactful communication initiatives that drive consumer engagement through cutting edge digital marketing capabilities, namely podcast production that generates highly impactful editorial and social media content presented by Associated Podcasts (APod).
“This partnership is about bringing real, tangible support to Ontario’s small businesses,” says Roger Tumminieri, owner of Support Local and partner at APod. “With our expertise in digital storytelling, podcasting, and community-based journalism, we can highlight the incredible contributions of Ontario’s business communities like never before.”
The Power of Digital Storytelling
Support Local is renowned for its multi-platform approach, which includes print, digital, social, video, and podcasting. Through this partnership, OBIAA members will have access to enhanced promotional opportunities, including:
- Podcasting Solutions: Providing a platform for business owners and BIA leaders to discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities in their industries.
- Social Media Content Creation: Helping businesses generate engaging reels, stories, and digital content to expand their reach.
- Feature Stories: Showcasing local business success stories.
- Community-Driven Campaigns: Aligning with Support Local’s commitment to fostering local engagement through strategic marketing initiatives.
Why This Matters Now
With ongoing economic challenges, rising costs, and the looming spectre of a trade war with the U.S., Ontario’s small businesses need every advantage they can get. Supporting local businesses is not just a slogan—it’s an essential strategy for economic resilience.
“There’s never been a more critical time for communities to rally around their local businesses,” says Mike Wixson, partner at APod. “Through this partnership, we’re ensuring that BIAs and their members have the tools and exposure they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.”
What’s Next?
