We caught up with Dax Stewart, owner of Local Tile Co. in Shelburne to find out why he does what he does. Here’s what he had to say…

“In the bustling world of business, there’s something truly special about those who find their purpose in making others happy. As the owner of Local Tile Co., I’ve discovered that joy is not just a byproduct of what we do; it’s at the very heart of our mission.

At Local Tile Co., our passion goes beyond simply selling tiles. It’s about creating spaces that inspire, uplift, and bring smiles to the faces of our customers. There’s nothing quite like witnessing the sheer delight on someone’s face when they see their vision come to life, tile by tile.

What drives me each day is the opportunity to harness my creativity in this industry. From selecting the perfect colour palette to designing intricate patterns, every project is a canvas for innovation. It’s the thrill of exploring new trends, techniques, and materials that keeps me inspired and eager to learn.

But perhaps the most rewarding aspect of what I do is the chance to provide exceptional customer service and advice. Guiding our customers through the process, sharing insights, and helping them make informed decisions is a responsibility I hold dear. Because at the end of the day, it’s about more than just selling tiles; it’s about building relationships and making a positive impact in our community.

As the owner of Local Tile Co., I am privileged to be part of a journey that celebrates creativity, learning, and above all, spreading joy. It’s a role I embrace wholeheartedly, knowing that every tile laid is a step towards making someone’s dream space a reality.
